Dr.
Phu-My Gep
Pediatric Dentist |
Dr. Phu-My Nguyen Gep
has been practising as a pediatric dentist in York Region since 2000.
She opened up Woodbridge Kids Dentistry in 2004 and continues to provide
comprehensive child and adolescent dental services. Dr.
Gep received her dental degree at The University of Minnesota in
1996. Prior to her specialty training, she completed an internship
year in Special Care Dentistry that included rotations through The
Hospital for Sick Children, Princess Margaret Hospital, Queen Elizabeth
Hospitals, Weenebayko Hospital in Moose Factory (and native coastal
communities), and the Pediatric Dental Clinic at The University
of Toronto.
She completed her pediatric dental specialty Masters
degree at The University of Toronto in 2000. This additional education
focuses on child psychology, child growth and development, pediatric
health, anesthesia, hospital-based dentistry, interceptive and minor
orthodontics, and care for the special needs patient. Her specialty
training included particular interest in dental traumatology.
There are many areas of prevention and care that
are unique to children and adolescents that Dr. Gep is trained to
identify, treat and prevent. That is why many parents wisely choose
a pediatric dentist for their child's dental health just as they
choose a pediatrician for their child's medical health.
Dr. Gep is a Fellow of the Royal College of
Dentists of Canada (RCDC), the organization that promotes the high
standard of dental specialization. She is a Member of the Royal
College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), the provincial dental
licensing board.
Dr. Gep also is a member and supports several
dental organizations including:
- Ontario Dental Association (ODA)
- Ontario Society of Pediatric Dentists (OSPD)
- Canadian Academy of Paediatric Dentists
