A ‘Musical’ World Oral Health Day March 20th

Get ready to enjoy the sounds of oral care! On March 20th, 2013, the World Oral Health Day will celebrate “Healthy Teeth for a Healthy Life” around the world. Since 2008 the FDI World Dental Federation has been celebrating World Oral Health Day to raise awareness about the importance of oral care, take action and offer educational preventative care solutions.

In making oral care fun this year, the FDI has launched a short musical film appropiately named, “A Toothbrush Symphony”. The original score was commisioned by using the sounds of gargling, brushing and rinsing one’s teeth, aimed at targeting all ages from around the world.

The FDI claims that 90% of the population worldwide, is at risk of some form of oral disorder. FDI President, Dr. Orlanda Monteiro da Silva goes on to say, “There is a real crisis in oral health today in both industrialized and developing countries. World Oral Health Day 2013 is an opportunity to encourage individuals, families, communities and governments to take urgent action to lower the incidence of oral disease.”
